What is a Migrant Investment Visa?

- A NZ Migrant Investment Visa allows you to obtain residence in New Zealand by investing a certain amount of money in New Zealand's economy.
- There are two types of Investment Visas: Investor, and Investor Plus.

What are the advantages of applying for an Investment Visa?

Health and character requirements
Applicants under both categories must meet the Immigration Department's usual health and character requirements.

Acceptable investments:
Examples of acceptable investments in the New Zealand economy are:
-bonds issued by the New Zealand government or local authorities
-bonds issued by New Zealand firms traded on the New Zealand Debt Securities Market (NZDX)
-equity in New Zealand firms (public or private including managed funds)
- residential property development(s)

Further requirements:
There are requirements of the successful visa applicant after the visa is granted. These include:
- Retaining your funds in acceptable investments for the required amount of time
- Spending the requisite amount of time in New Zealand during the investment period.
- If all requirements are satisfied, you will be eligible for a permanent resident visa for yourself and all family members included in your application.
